Dog training

At Alfoxton Dog Centre we offer lots of different ways for you to work on your dog training skills and improve your relationship with your dog.

Puppy School

In our puppy classes we build the foundations of good manners and social skills, and provide families with the information to support their dogs at home and in the community.

We offer puppy school to pups from the age of 8 weeks in two locations: Wandong and Coburg (Melbourne Inner North).

Group Classes

We offer ongoing group classes for dogs over the age of 6 months. Each session allows the dogs to continue building their social skills as well as do activities and trick training. We emphasise a combination of physical and mental stimulation in order to build a more balanced dog.

Group classes for dogs of all ages are held three days a week at Wandong.

Workshops

Workshops are a great opportunity to expand your knowledge and improve your relationship with your dog. Each workshop has a different focus, from basic tricks and agility to activities like ninja dogs and dock diving! Whether you come to class every week or only make it to the occasional workshop, you and your dog will have fun learning new things and building on the skills you already have.

Workshops are open to dogs of all ages and skill levels, and are run the first Sunday of every month at Wandong.

Private lessons

We offer private lessons for dogs and families who need more specific assistance with problem behaviour.

Dog Activity Park

As well as the all-weather training arena used for most classes, there is a well-shaded activity field containing different agility equipment. Even dogs who participate regularly in workshops always have new things to do here!

All-weather training arena

Many of our workshops end up with the dogs letting off steam at the Dock Dogs dam. Dogs can race around in the paddock, go for a swim, and have a go at jumping from one of the three docks set up on the dam!

Time here can also be reserved for private Dock Diving training and group activities. Contact Anne for more information.
